I haven’t manually touched the pipeline in days. It sources the accounts, watches them for buying signals, scores every move, and routes leads into the right campaign on its own.
A few weeks ago I wired an AI agent into my outbound to see how much of the motion it could actually own. Not “write me a cold email.” The whole thing, end to end: who to go after, what to watch them for, when to reach out, and which message they get.
It works because the agent has the full context of my business baked into a memory system, and because it monitors real buying signals instead of running on a calendar. Here’s exactly how it goes from a blank slate to a live, self-running campaign.
From there I handed it a goal: take this ICP and go find the people who match it. It used Exa to source 100 LinkedIn profiles, each with forward-leaning evidence attached. AI-native, ops-minded, the kind of buyer who already thinks the way our best customers do.
Then the important part. I pointed it at the Trigify MCP and asked which signals we should watch for this ICP. It ranked all 16 available signals into tiers: tier one buying-window triggers, tier two nurture signals, tier three slow-burn awareness. Then it put the list on monitoring.
Last piece: a scoring system and a cron. The agent built a matrix that scores each signal, stacks them, and assigns a tier. Then a scheduled job checks the feed every morning, applies the scoring, and routes each lead. Tier one goes straight into a Smuggler or dev campaign. Tier two gets a softer sequence. Tier three just accumulates score until it crosses the line.
The real unlock isn’t the automation. It’s that outreach now triggers on intent instead of a calendar.
This is the whole argument for signal-based selling. When someone shows they’re in a buying window, the agent reaches out while that window is still open, instead of hitting them on whatever day a sequence happened to schedule them. For this kind of outreach you barely need heavy personalisation. Timing beats personalisation.
